Natural Palm Mixed-Carotene Complex
Carotenes are fat-soluble yellow-orange pigments found primarily in fruits and vegetables. Virgin crude palm oil contains the highest known concentration of naturally derived mixed-carotenes. In fact, crude palm oil is the world’s richest natural plant source of carotenes in terms of retinol (Vitamin A) equivalents. It contains about 15 to 300 times as many retinol equivalents as carrots, leafy green vegetables and tomatoes. Alpha- and Beta-carotenes are pro-Vitamin A. Once in the body, they can be converted to Vitamin A when necessary.
Carotenoids are now widely used in the food and drinks industry as a natural coloring agent with nutritional and potent antioxidant benefits.
